Spellbook Sky Knight - The Craziness Continues

Japan is having JOTL Sneak Previews starting tomorrow, and so spoilers have begun to hit the internet. Check out this AMAZING Facebook page to stay in the loop on the newest cards, including an Insect version of Debris Dragon, a new version of The Calculator, and a new "C" monster that flat-out stops Xyz Summons!

But as amazing as these new reveals are, the real focus of this particular post is about a different spoiler. A very, VERY different spoiler...

Spellbook Sky Knight
Light/9/Spellcaster/2900/2400

When this card is card is Special Summoned by the effect of a Spellcaster-Type Monster or a Spellbook Spell Card: You can add 2 Spellbook Spell Cards from your Graveyard to your hand. During the turn you activate this effect, you cannot Special Summon any other monster.
When this effect resolves, you can reveal 4 different Spellbook Spell Cards in your hand; destroy all cards on the field except this card. *

*Remember to always take OCG card effects with a grain of salt - translations may change or end up being incorrect, in addition to being altered upon release in the TCG. But this is what we have so far, and this is what I've analyzed.

If you read my article on Tuesday and thought I was crazy... well, guess what? You were wrong.

On one hand, I'm upset that Konami keeps peppering the recent releases of more balanced archetypes with cards that clearly don't fit the mold. It's as if they love Prophecy SO much that they're willing to completely ignore everything they've learned over the years as far as what constitutes a well-designed card. On the other, I guess I'm a little happy that (yet again) they've helped me make my case against Prophecy and the Spellbooks.

Ban this card. Ban Judgment Day. Limit High Priestess. Limit Secrets. Limit Wisdom. And don't ever make an archetype this unhealthy EVER AGAIN.
