For those of you who don't know, there is a Youtube channel that popped up recently named TradingCardGirls, wherein there are videos posted of a girl with really big tits reading deck profiles while wearing nothing on her top except for a bra. I'd suggest spending about twenty seconds watching a video of hers before you continue reading, just so you can fully understand the context of this post. Hopefully you'll be able to make it that far without any problems.
Done? Okay. So let's not beat around the bush here. Obviously the point of this is to build a following and get famous among members of the community due to sex appeal... so if that's true, then why are you only in one tiny corner of the screen?
Oh right, to show the decklist! Well, simply reciting a list isn't really worth watching (especially from someone who appears to have no critical input, opinion, or even capability to pronounce the cards). Obviously her looks (basically, tits) are supposed to change that and make us want to watch, but how effective will that be when we can barely even see you?
Out of all of the shameless attempts to grab attention I've seen in the past few months, this has got to be one of the most poorly executed. If she wants to get better at it, she should probably do the following:
1. Move her hair out of the way. What is the point of trying to reel people in with your tits if they can't, you know, SEE your tits? Though to be fair, I couldn't make it all the way through any of her videos before feeling like I would lose a few brain cells, so for all I know there could be nipples galore by the ending. But my guess is that there's not.
2. Speak as clearly as possible and try to retrain her accent, while also not talking exceptionally slowly or sounding like she's reading the script for a Russian-American masterpiece of porn. I understand this might be really, really hard if she isn't a native English speaker (it really sounds like she isn't), but listening to her talk is like nails on a chalkboard for a lot of people. And naturally, that's going to make it more difficult for them to watch and more easy for them to hate.
3. Create content where you actually talk to the
audience and share some entertaining insight into how you view the game, rather than
just spouting card names that you don't seem to even be able to completely
pronounce in a halfhearted attempt to gain exposure. Even if you don't know a single damn thing about Yugioh, almost anything would be better than this. If you can't figure out how to make your opinions entertaining, well, hey, that's apparently what you have tits for. But you need to have opinions of SOME kind. Appearing to be a brainless ditz is way too easy for people to hate on, even in a community composed of about 99.9% penis.
I'm not sure exactly how long this girl will be producing videos and, by default, be a member of our community, but I certainly do hope that she at least gets something she wants out of it while managing to not give too many people a hate attack in the process. In the meantime, I think it's quite likely that overwhelmingly negative internet feedback will drive her away from the game, which is something that I feel would be unfortunate considering the 99.9% statistic I brought up (which is completely scientific in nature, by the way). Feel free to send her this post if it tickles your fancy, and I'll talk to you guys later.
